Posted November 04, 2018 14:07:31In Australia, it’s not just about getting a job or getting a house.
It’s about having a say about what’s important in life.
Women’s issues, like gender equality, reproductive rights and equal pay, are central to Australia’s political debate.
And the country’s largest party is running on the idea that those issues are also of importance to women.
Women are the main constituency of both the ALP and the Greens.
The ALP has the largest majority of women in parliament.
The Greens, with one seat, are just one of the two parties that don’t have a female MP.
Women make up almost half of Australia’s electorate.
The party is known for its focus on women and has campaigned on a host of issues, including the environment, gender equality and childcare.
What’s in your budget?
What are you proposing?
The Greens are calling for a $4 billion package to improve the lives of women and children.
They want a $1 billion funding boost to help schools and communities deal with the impacts of climate change, and $5 billion to help people living with mental health issues.
They want $20 million for a pilot project to provide free access to women’s health services, and the party wants to provide $4.5 billion for childcare.
Both the ALP, and Labor, are supporting the $20 billion in childcare funding package, but the Greens are also calling for more.
The Greens say their budget is focused on women’s needs, including child care, women’s entitlements and childcare, but it’s also on the agenda of many Australians.
What are your views on child care?
I think that it’s important to give families more control over their children’s future, but I don’t think that’s the main priority of the budget.
What would you say to those who want more childcare?
If there’s one thing that’s clear to me is that we need to see a more balanced approach to childcare.
We need to look at how much money is needed, and what the best investment is, for childcare in this country.
What do you think of the current childcare policy?
We have the right policy, but there are a lot of problems that need to be fixed.
How can we make sure that childcare is better for families, and that children are able to thrive in the 21st century?
It’s a question that’s been on the minds of many parents.
How do you feel about childcare for families?
The biggest concern I have about childcare is that it can be so hard to provide.
I’ve had four children who have had to take the day off work because they were working at home, and I’ve seen mothers who have spent two years of their lives doing nothing to prepare their children for school.
We don’t want to see families that don and can’t make sure their children are educated and ready for the future, or that they are able and comfortable in a home where their children have opportunities.
What should be done to address this?
The Australian Council of Social Service says that childcare should be a priority in the budget, and they have proposed a $3 billion childcare package.
It includes $2.3 billion for family and carers’ programs and $2 billion for early years education.
What other issues would you like to see addressed?
The Government is committed to increasing access to childcare, and we’re also committed to ensuring that there are sufficient resources for young people in Australia to get into good, well-paid jobs, including childcare.
So we want to give our young people the chance to have access to a good job, to have the opportunity to do well in school, to be able to be part of a family that is secure and successful.
What is your view of the Federal Government’s childcare policy and what are you calling for?
The childcare funding that we’re proposing is just the beginning of what we need.
We also need to make sure childcare is available to women and young people who are in need of it, and to provide the best possible support to those in need.
The budget also proposes $1.5 million for the National Women’s Network, which aims to increase access to female-focused job-seekers programs.
The network is part of the Australian Women’s Lobby, a lobby group representing more than 200,000 women and their advocates.
What role do you see the National Woman’s Lobby playing in this debate?
We’re trying to build a better workforce for women, which is a priority for all of us.
It would be really nice if the Government recognised the importance of women’s organisations, and looked at them as an integral part of that workforce.
The Coalition has a long record of funding women’s groups, but this budget really reflects the need to take a broader view.
What have you learnt from your experiences working in the community?
I’ve had an opportunity to work with young people, and particularly mothers and their children.
We’re all in this together
