TORONTO, ON — — Toronto FC Women Soccer Forum members are excited to have the opportunity to participate in the club’s first year as a new league.
It was announced today that the Toronto-based women’s soccer team has been approved to compete in the Ontario Premier League.
The Women’s Ontario Soccer League is the first tier of the Ontario women’s professional soccer league, which features women’s teams in five divisions and clubs competing for league titles in the OPL.
The first division will be called the Women’s Premier League, and the top-ranked teams will be competing in the second division.
Toronto FC will be joined by Toronto FC II in the third division.
The club will play in the league’s inaugural season starting with the 2019-20 season.
The Toronto FC women’s team will play its first game on April 1, 2019 against FC Edmonton.
