We are on the cusp of a watershed moment for feminism.
Women are finally gaining the tools and space to take their voice back.
Women’s forums, often considered the domain of a tiny, privileged subset of the public, are a vital resource for women in all spheres of life.
And with the rise of Twitter and Facebook, women’s media platforms, too, are proliferating.
What if there was an app that allowed women to communicate directly with each other without fear of being silenced?
We want to make this happen.
And to make it happen, we need your help.
Here are some ways you can get involved: We are a non-profit and we need the help of the community to bring this vision to life.
We are also looking for funding for a small startup that will be providing content to the Women’s Media Center and its sister sites to help make the app a reality.
The Women’s Forum app will be available for free on iOS and Android, with ads being removed in the future.
For an idea of what that looks like, check out this video.
We want you to help us make this dream a reality!
We also want to help the Women of Color communities on the Women in Media team with the development of the app.
We know how important it is for the Women to be included in the discussion, so that their voices can be heard.
We also recognize that many of the women in the communities we work with are new to the tech industry and that many are women of color.
We would like to encourage the women of Color community to help develop the app and get involved.
We can’t wait to share it with you!
If you are interested in helping us make the Women In Media app a success, please email [email protected] and let us know what you can do.
We appreciate your time, and thank you for your support.
